The Governor of the State of New Jersey Visits The Center for Great Expectations Just Days After Announcing a $ 200M Plan to Fight Heroin Epidemic

Just three days after announcing a $ 200M initiative to fight heroin, Governor Christie returns to visit The Center for Great Expectations (CGE), a 501(c)(3), located in Somerset, New Jersey.

The Center for Great Expectations is one of a handful of programs in the country that provides gender-specific trauma-informed treatment services delivered in a continuum of care that includes: Residential treatment, Outpatient treatment (men and women), Therapeutic Childhood Development Center, and Supportive Housing. CGE serves over 200 individuals annually. The Outpatient Center is located in Monument Square in New Brunswick, New Jersey.

We are delighted to have Governor Christie back as our guest at The Center for Great Expectations! The Governor clearly understands the implications of substance use on families. His unconditional support and admiration of our clients is a tremendous gift to them!

Peg Wright, Founder & CEO, The Center for Great Expectations

CGE provides a safe place for all clients to engage in an individualized treatment plan, rebuild self-esteem and healthy relationships, and break the inter-generational cycle of substance use, abuse, neglect and homelessness.

A 'Trauma at the Core: Applying Trauma-Informed Care in Mental Health and Substance Abuse Treatment' Conference is being held on Friday, Dec. 1 for behavioral health care specialists at the DCF Child Welfare Training Academy, 30 VanDyke Avenue, New Brunswick.
